If anyone knows anything about Dennis Miller, the first thing is that he is not a liberal. The Newsweek is the ultimate socialistic, liberal, magazine and Dennis was merely commenting on the Newsweek and how the magazine lists all these socialistic countries as the best ones to live. I am a Finnish-American and can see this clearly. Dennis Miller rocks!

I agree with your view on America. Everyone here believes that their way of life is just about the only way to live. And when something pops up in the world somewhere that goes completely counter to what we have, we just have to go and “liberate” them from whatever imjustice they are surely suffering.

December/January (10/11) copy of Monocle magazine features Finland as an emerging international force both intellectually and economically. It’s a brilliant pull out. Mind you the publication costs 12.50 euros but well worth it if you live in Finland or just interested.
On a more heavier note, this blog has great potential to aid and distribute quality information to people who truly want an informative dissection from an immigrant perspective. However, it is rampant with drivel and useless banter. The host himself plays a ridiculous card of love/hate leading to the provocation of chatter that is quite banal and frankly foolish. As an American immigrant moving to Finland I just hope this isn’t the type of Americans I run into.
