uh hello? "uninhabitable parts of Russia"? All the highlighted parts on the map of Russia are inhabitable. If anything, that is where most people live. WTF wants to live in the Arctic Circle frozen regions? Oh whoops, I mean someone sane with a brain stem and a life, not like the Finns?

Finland is not a first world country... it may be the first country of another world but that's different, what it definitely sucks is that there is nothing about first world beyond McDonalds here and after 6 years here you may know that.

Hope that someone can fix some of this "differences" soon...

As good as these things are (and I have handled one up close and they are indeed cool), I think I will stick with real books.

With a real book you can be sure that you actually own the content. Look at music. How many times have you repurchased a tape of the record you owned, to replace it with a DVD or mp3. What next?

Amazon is pretty cheap for books and you can even find cheaper options at ALIBRIS which has a UK site. Many of the books they have are used. Good luck selling your kindle copy of a book....

Gee haven't you seen what they think about Microsoft? The evil one?

Wow, I posted a comment somewhere else about the downfall of FfT and all of a sudden 2 new blog posts appear. Coincidence? Does this mean you (Phil) and others will again take the time to come up with regular content that is not all about comedy?

On topic: Is Nokia developing anything like this? There may be your answer. Only few countries that are so protective about their own industry. EU fine-slappers, are you listening?

But then again you can download eBooks with PC and USB combination. Only the Wireless Downloading is not working. So, only problem if any is can we buy all the books or is there regional restrictions like it is with Fictionwise/eReader sites were some books can be bought only in USA or Canada regions, leaving finnish buyers with empty hands.

AT&T has not reached roaming agreements in Finland. The new Kindle global uses an AT&T SIM for 3G connectivity. It's probably because of our own network service providers.

Don't let this stop you from buying one. Service will eventually come, i think, or then you could hack it and put in a local 3G SIM.
