Finland for Thought
Politics, current events, culture - In Finland & United States

Tervetuloa | Welcome
As an American living in Finland, I started this blog six years ago to address the political and cultural issues in Finland and the United States - but lately this blog is just a place for me to make fun of Finns and Americans. :-)

Find out more about me from my personal or professional sites. Enjoy!

  6. WONDERFUL AD!

Finland needs more people like him, to bring a little laughter and humour ! Remember when I lived in the US, could not stay upset for very long, because would always meet people like him to put a smile on my face, and make me happy!

Both he and his business are welcomed in Finland;probably by me alone!

Well, there is this concept called “itäsuomalainen romupiha” which refers to tendency of some rural males, especially in the eastern Finland, to store cars, old TV-sets, washing machines etc. in their front yard for the purpose of spare part scavenging, inventions, shotgun practice and so on.

Now this guy just needs to advertise his service to their wives so they could convince their husbands how great it would be to have some flowers in the front yard after all these years. He could also auction the junk, that has not been claimed in, say, 10 years. The guys would love the bargains.

If there is a show-stopper, it would probably be some stupid EU regulation.

  8. #7: No, Finns could ban it all by themselves, without the help of any EU regulations.
