Hey Hank, swedes have always been in the avanguard in population management. They sterilized unwanted mothers till the 60′s by ten of thousands. They were leading nation in racial biology in early 1900′s and remained so trough the WW2. Finns were not recognized as national minority untill this century even though there has always been a finnish population in present day Swedens geographical area. And all trough the years they have smiled and been “understanding”.

Not only poor do dumpster diving. It’s gaining acceptance even among people who wouldn’t necessarily have to do it. Personally I know of a couple, both highly educated and employed, who do it because… why not, much of that stuff is fine to eat and would go to waste otherwise.

I have to say it… Sometimes visiting the produce section of Lidl (and for that matter most Alepa shops) is like dumpster diving.

If the produce is that bad to begin with, I wonder what the dumpster must be like? The cleaning products probably killed most of the disease.

Sam the Ham, Also the Finns, Norwegians and Danes employed sterilisation and eugenics in population policy. As a per capita number, Finland actually sterilised very slightly more people than the Swedes. So, let’s not throw stones from glass houses.

I tend to agree with Dave the Revelator too. The idea of buying such foodstuffs from even inside Lidl in the first place is rather scary.

Aha! It is the finns again!! Should have known that it is our fault. What next? Al-Quaida? Rwandan genocide? Holocaust? Bet somebody comes up with something like that and connects it to us

I find interesting the large number of (sometimes middle class looking) Finns who scavange through trash cans, around the Helsinki region, to collect bottles/cans with 15ct return deposits. Many have two or three bags full hanging from their bicycle handlebars lol

This stuff HAS happened in the US. Some markets used to pour motor oil over food in the dumpster. But after some bad publicity, they knocked it off. Even better, some markets began participating in daily runs where the shelters round up expired and leftover food from all over town. The homeless and destitute can end up getting anything from old broccoli to leftover hoidy-toidy canapés from wunches of bankers. (Yes, the collective noun is “a wunch of bankers”.)

9# we are finally enjoying the results of free market economy and liberal economic policies where middle class is finally shrinking and things go back to the way they should be according the Kokoomus and other like minded people.
Golden age of mankind is returning as the rich get richer and rest get poorer, like it has been during most of the history of the Man. Finally we get rid of ridicilous ideas of equality, legality and such nonsense,and go back to the days of pharaos and kings, romans and slaves, when societies were not governed by such stupid notions as nations or people.
Maybe our grand children will enjoy the peace of mind when they know that they are like their children will be (and granchildren too) poor masses in the service of the Mighty. They will have their place and work and nothing else to worry.
No more reason to wallow about holidays or free time. Your life will be struggle to survive from day to day like it always should have been and like it has been all this time in the third world countries.
So to the dumbsters and trash cans all! Free markets, rights of the rich and big business will lead the way!!
