Another public registry

The Ministry of Social and Health affairs has plans on making a public registry of licenced healthcare professionals. The registry would be public, on the internet and would have such information as the person’s name, birthdate, qualification and registration number and any restrictions. This kind of information is available already by a phone call, but the ministry suggests that this way the public could easily verify the treatments they get are provided by licenced professionals. The medical staff on the other hand opposes this kind of public registry, and says people won’t choose healthcare professions as a career if there is such a registry. Mainly the nurses are worried of stalkers and such.

Professionals usually don’t mined the exposure, you get more business.

That’s just because the nanny state insists on treating the mentally ill instead of just turning them loose on the streets - although that too has been in vogue for the last 15 years with obvious and predictable consequences.

  4. Finland’s mentally ill and Alko-holics have been roaming the streets since the 1950’s and probably long before that, so saying that it is a recent occurrence shows that you are too young to remember ;-)

I don’t see a problem with a general health provider registry. The government publishing private people’s income and wealth information is far more nefarious and intrudes upon human dignity.

yea, I remember when Florida shut all its mental wards down, based on a paper from a University type to do community care, under a Liberal Democrat Governor no less.

    That worked out well

well if you had a system that rewarded….an incentive based system..they would get more, as more folks come through the door.

    Hint, its not the Nanny State, its called evil C A P I T A L I S M

I run a business where we live for any extra Exposure like that. If it comes free, I will take it, and the money that comes from the exposure.

  10. Come on - this is all very unfair. Americans do provide homes for their mentally ill. It’s called White House. There will even be a big external meet-up for them in St Paul in Minnesota this week, with balloons and banners and all sorts. They even get to the therapy of allowing them to rant and rave their mad ideas from the lectern.

  16. They will be given the right to opt out of having their name in this registry. Otherwise, it is time for more complaints to the EC and more court cases. We will also see soon hopefully how the C-73/07 Satamedia case goes. Veropörssi was expecting to be shut down. I haven’t heard anything for a while.

I wonder if it might be a good time for me to move to Italy. They had their short lived tax circus - something which will probably never be repeated again.

I took down the Verosirkus website for now. If it looks like it starts back up in November again, I can consider compiling all the available “public” information I can find about the key people behind all of it into my own little vittuilupörssi magazine and put it also in Pirate Bay. It is surprising what you can compile together from public databases and from Googling: Name, income, birthday, address, phone number, names of other people living at the same address, their birthdates, their phone numbers, their incomes, wealth figures from 2005 Veropörssi, car registration numbers, car make/model/year, court cases, e-mail addresses, etc.
