Fucking Restaurant

Tags: Everything — Author: @ 11:59 pm

Some friends of mine were visiting Finland for the first time and find this article in a magazine, they thought it was hysterical use of the word “fuck”. “Fuck duck, fuck chicken, fuck king prawn, fuck beef, fuck vegetable, fuck frog, fuck snake…” LOL!! (click the image below for the full article)

Hat Tip to Michael W. for the photo!

    That’s a funny article, man.

I have eaten a couple of times A Happy Family in the Grill.

In a Chinese restaurant in Portugal. That is a mixed seafood barbecue.

Man, that is a funny word.

Ever since the first time I heard it (1st grade) I haven’t stopped laughing.

    Fuck!

    LOL

I can’t really understand the writer’s problem here. She seems to be complaining about how her family doesn’t enjoy eating food they don’t like. How weird? Maybe she should take a note and try cooking something else…

RTFA and it all becomes clear. It’s about a Chinese restaurant that helpfully translated its menu into English. There was a slight mistranslation as “fried” was replaced by “fuck”.

I am Chinese and I can tell you what this “fuck” really means.
Many Chinese restaurants/shops in China use the word “fuck” when they need to express “dried”. That is because when you use chinese-english translator programs they will usually show the result for “gan” as “fuck”. “Dried” in Chinese character “gan” also means to fuck in slang. So what they see in that restaurant probably didn’t use “fuck” instead of fried, but instead of “dried”. Many Chinese restaurants serve a dish called “dry pot” and thus you can see “fuck” in most of their dishes.

People who use machine translations get fucked.
