The U.S. Federal Government spelled Espoo with a ‘5′
Haven’t posted anything in forever, apologies to all of you (and YOU’RE WELCOME to others
). I just received my portion of George Bush’s $145 billion economic stimulus package…well, $300 of it. I’m rich bitch! HONK!!! I think I’ll buy a big bag of crack, that’ll help the U.S. economy! Or maybe I’ll spend that $300 here in Finland, that’ll help the U.S. economy equally.
So you think the government is retarded for giving out billions while racking up trillions in debt, right? How could they make it even more retarded? By spelling “Espoo” with a ‘5′, check it out below…
LOL!!! I’ll be “laughing all the way to the bank” when I cash this thing. I’d like to think George Bush himself wrote that check. Reminds me of Mr. Burns’ illegitimate son spelled “Yale” with a ‘6′ in his Yale application. Too fucking funny, man.

Actually Phil, that’s one of the smartest and things the US government has done - ever! It’s not only smart, but also highly Libertarian to replace social programs with direct cash transfers. You see, nobel laureate Milton Friedman was the guy who invented the scheme:
http://economistsview.typepad.com/economistsview/2006/11/milton_friedman_1.html
It’s really the best way to get government out of your life and allow the free market to function at an optimal level. That’s why it’s not surprising that the pro-free market, anti-IRS FairTax organi(www.fairtax.org) has ’stimilus payments’ as one of its main tenets.
And speaking of getting government out of our lives, since when do you care whether someone spends money on “crack?” Isn’t it a free choice?

Heh, well I haven’t paid U.S. taxes in over five years, I don’t deserve the $600, although I’d happily accept it

Do fairtax.org support racking up trillions of debt? I’m all for cutting taxes and giving money back to the people like this…but the feds need to cut SPENDING, that’s the key.

I hope so! Cause my $300 crack bag is beginning to look more like a $200 bag already.

“Cause my $300 crack bag is beginning to look more like a $200 bag already.”
On the contrary, your bag of crack will be worth $400. Thanks to sustained law enforcement efforts, drugs are a major growth industry.
Did you know that Milton Friedman was Ronald Reagan’s economic advisor, and that ’stimulus payments’ were supposed to be part of reaganomics? Unfortunately, whereas they proceeded with reaganomics, they unfortunately voted to keep the old welfare system and wasteful government programs intact - and to even expand them!
At least now, ’stimulus payments’ offer a chance to replace those old failed programs. Unlike spending on the war, the productivity they generate will pay for any short-term deficit spending. You won’t find a better deal going.

The big question is how to get stimulus money for Finland, so it can move closer toward a proper market economy?

Laugh all you want, but the truth is that you are the only one in the Feds’ system with an E5poo address. It’s a way of ensuring that even if you obscure your actual street address, they can still find you. Same is true for a guy I know in Ta11inn (those aren’t lowercase Ls in that paikkakunta.)
Actually, that’s the whole Bushie game isn’t it? Appear like an idiot or a dimwitted childs, to throw people off?

And bad news: if you look closely, you actually received $3o0. The actual zeros went to bail out Fannie and Freddie. You think they would waste good numbers on ordinary Americans?
Comment by John — Tue, Jul 15th, 2008 @ 12:39 pm
US government borrows more money from Chinese, gives that money to Bubba J6Ps out there and they use it to buy more Chinese crap at Wal Mart….that is just friggin genius!
Probably soon they are gonna send a nice letter requiring Phil to travel to the nearest US Army recruiting station. His services are needed in I5AN, I mean Ey-Ran. Let’s kill some muzzies! Another friggin OUTSTANDINGLY GENIUS brainfart from the King Dubya Himself!
“..As democracy is perfected, the office represents, more closely, the inner soul of the people. We move toward a lofty ideal. On some great and glorious day, the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.” - 26th of July 1920, H.L. Mencken, Baltimore Evening Sun.

Its going to be fun watching the next 1 million die, and I get to blame the EU each and every time now.

Yesterday July 15, 2008 was also the day when the USD hit 1.65 against the Euro. The All-Time low in the history of USD/EUR, one of the sad results of the Voodoo economics of the Bush admin.
So your 300 USD is worth 181.82 in Euros.
Maybe you might want to visit your local Alko and buy a few bottles of Jack Daniels whiskey? At least, it’s not made in China.
This would be your contribution in boosting the U.S. economy. Just
the way the Commander Guy wanted, right?

There’s no doubt that the neoliberal Bush administration screwed up the economy miserably. Paying for wars by inflating the dollar is both deceptive and dishonest. And giving people $300 to buy more goods from China only exacerbates the situation by giving the Fed even more power to sell T-Bills at the next government’s request. Obviously that’s bad.
But there are some another sides to this $300 distribution scheme that we should probably consider:
1). A large portion of the end price of those Chinese products goes to American workers who transport, sell and maintain them. Maybe even the majority of the price.
2). Not everybody is using that $300 to buy a new TV. Many people need it to pay for things like healthcare services, or school supplies and clothing for their children. And some people can barely get to work due to the high gas prices, so the extra money helps.
All things considered, this is a wealth/income redistribution scheme that fundamentally makes sense because it involves no special programs. It also compensates for the irresponsible war spending by shifting the burden away from poor people. Why should they have to pay for that crappy decision making anyway?
Maybe this is a good time to analyze whether the Fed should be legislated out of existence so this kind of stuff can’t happen again. That way, if unscrupulous politicians want to invade a country, they’ll have to tell everyone the cost up front. Isn’t that the real culprit here?

Yes! I take it, not a very good one, eh?
Comment by Phil — Wed, Jul 16th, 2008 @ 9:03 pm
People can use the $300 stimulus to offset education expenses. It’s better to pay people directly rather than paying school subsidies. That way people can shop the system in a free market way. The big question is: how do you get rid of education subsidies altogether?
