May Day
So I’m supposed to have a picnic today?? It’s +6C !! Can we move this holiday to June, July, August, Southern Europe? I don’t think the “workers” will mind. And can we include the unemployed in our holiday? I don’t think it’s right to exclude them just cause they don’t have a job and aren’t considered “workers”. Here’s what Wikipedia says about May Day…
In Sweden, Finland, Norway and Iceland, Labor Day is a public holiday, celebrated by many different socialist parties and groups with political demonstrations and speeches. In recent years the focus of the day in both Norway and Finland has become more of an partying one – the most celebrating group of people being university and High School students – instead of a political one.
Heh, it makes me very proud that the students have hijacked this socialist holiday and turned into a day of boozing and partying.
