Finland gives aid to the poor people of the United Kingdom
I just found out yesterday Finland payed over 100 million euros to the UK budget in 2006, apparently to support the poor peoples in the UK. We have known now for a while that the UK government is poor and has no money because they get aid from the EU in the form of payment reliefs. This has not been enough as their last resort has being to send over all the chavs as economic refugees to Finland. Shocking as it may seem to them that there are shower mixers and central heating. And bread you don’t need to put marmite on to hide the mildew. However the EU requires us here to raise the taxes to shell out additional money, though only a meagre 7% of the 442 million euros Finland contributes to the EU is directed to the relief of famine in the UK.
See here Blair and Prescott laughing after they’ve been to the soup kitchen, fed first time in weeks, benefit of the Finnish taxpayers money…

It is nice to know we here in Finland live in such a rich and well-to-do country. Maybe the only reason to feel inferior is that Sweden still pays more money to the EU than Finland. That is Swedish contribution is the greatest per capita, Germany is the biggest contributor if you just look at the figures.

The UK gets a rebate (if that’s what you mean by payment relief) because the amount it pays in agricultural subsidies far outweighs the amount it gets. The UK is still a significant net contributor to the EU in both absolute and per capita terms.
And I bet there are more Finns in the UK than Brits in Finland, even though there are 60 million Brits and only 5 million Finns.

Well, the VRK gives the amount of Brits in Finland as 2776. So there is one Brit for every 1800 Finns. If the same case were true with the UK; then there would have to be about 33 000 Finns in the UK. Now wheres them statistics when you need themm…

Finland paid 400 Million Euros more to EU last year than they got back. Still It’s not that much: about 77e for each Finn. That sum is about 0.5 % of the amount of taxes I pay each year. So EU is cheap. It’s that 99,5 % of “other” taxes that eat my wallet.

I agree, it’s a disgrace.
But isn’t this thanks for the “libertarian icon” Thatcher, who managed to negotiate these favours for the “poor brits”. Nice way to liberate your economy, when others pay for it.
And Blair, that guy I hate more than “the dumber one”. Whereas GWB is simply dumb, Blair is something else. If I would support the death penalty – which I don’t – and if justice would be FAIR, he would hang fairly soon. GWB would – successfully – plead insanity.

A January 2006 hunting trip in Estonia, in which the Danish, Finnish, and Estonian Chiefs of Defence took part, has raised a storm of protest in Denmark…..several sales representatives from Swedish jet fighter producer Saab and from Hägglunds, a subsidiary of weapons designer British Aerospace Systems, also attended (PAID FOR) the hunt.
This week General Helsø has submitted a report on his all-expenses-paid trip to the Ministry of Defence.
According to the ministry, Helsø’s request to attend the trip mentioned nothing about a hunting expedition. When the itinerary and list of participants were made public last weekend, the Ministry of Defence asked Helsø to provide a written explanation of the trip to the ministry.
In his report Helsø wrote that the Danish Defence Forces have close relations with Finland, Sweden, and Estonia. He insists that he did not know in advance that representatives of Swedish weapons manufacturers would also attend the hunt.
Berlingske Tidende reported further that the trip was paid for by the Royal Estonian Hunting Society, which had received funding from four large Swedish arms manufacturers.
Helsø claimed that he had not been aware of the fact that the Swedish arms industry supported the hunting society.

Nice try Hank. You can come and do my tax returns anytime. If the number of Brits in Finland is 2776 that’s 0.0046% of the British population that have moved to Finland. If the same proportion of the Finnish population moved to the UK it would need 239 people to mean a similar proportion had moved.
The statistic you cite says nothing about either the absolute or relative desirability of moving abroad to sponge off the welfare state.

Winter is what they call a neoconservative or a neocon. They are a dying breed. Before the year 2000 inside the republican party they were referred to as “the crazies”.
What does he mean by the whole “human shield” argument? Well, this is classic neocon behaviour. Neocons speak in talking points – meaning they come up with something that they think is clever, then they repeat it over and over again. Actually they rarely come up with anything by themselves. Usually they get issued their talking points by “faux-news”. Remember the old “we have to fight them over there so we dont have to fight them over here.”? That’s a classic neocon talking point.
However Winter is right about one thing:
“Come on, Hezbollah is owned, gets its orders, does exactly what Iran tells it to do.”
This is true.

If “prezident Blairs” refer to the assholes Bush&Blair, then I agree. Both SHOULD be tried (along with – at least – the gentleman H. Kissinger, if not others) for war crimes. But that will not happen. The worst assholes – at least those that have “credibility” in the west – ALWAYS get away. No matter what they do. That’s called democracy. An amiable ideology. If I were president of Finland, and if I had the proper authorisations, Henry Kissinger – if visiting Finland – would be thrown in jail (awaiting trial).
Sadly, this impropable scenario won’t happen, and the “statesman” will get the treatment he has gotten so far. Henry “Saddam” Kissinger. The killer. This world is crazy. At least it’s not LOGICAL. In any way.
