In Finland we have this thing called reilu meininki.

Days of company bonuses for workers are long gone. Couple years ago even R&D guys like me got something like one month’s salary as bonus, but since those damn yankees bought us, all loose money is shipped across the ocean. We have to settle for that free cup of coffee on our way out.

Wait. The coffee in the factory’s own shop costs 2.5 Euros?
No pulla? (Probably not at that price.)
Talk about being f.ed twice.
And it expires.
There are so many things wrong with this. (That being said without know anything about other compensation that UPM might offer, like options and the ability to purchase company stock, as well as relative salary, pekka’s days, etc….)
How about providing coffee for free.

Does Tulikivi have good products?
I am looking at them for my new house.
You know, reward the best with business.

“Does Tulikivi have good products?”
I heard they have an extremely good “white-flag-of-surrender” (it has been tested by the French with awesome results), that you could probably buy tax-free if you live outside of Finland.

winter: Does Tulikivi have good products?
Tulikivi is OK, I guess, but if I had ING’s (those nasty freeriding wooden shoe-wearing tulip-growing potheads) unlimited 8% credit at my disposal, I’d go fo Nunnauuni instead.

Tulikivi has some very good products. If you are building a Tulikivi stove I would recommend Finnish soapstone to go with the stove. It makes a nice chimney because it has a unique look and radiates heat for a very long time after being heated. It’s very expensive to import from Finland, but well worth it if you’ve got the bling.
At the moment, I’m building a wine room and game room for a Finnish American businessman who has a beautiful Tulikivi fireplace with soapstone chimney in his great room. I could find out more info on it for you if you’d like.
I’m not an expert on Finnish stove’s or fireplaces so I could be wrong about Tulikivi. A Finn would know what brands are the best and what would be the most value for your money.

“building a Tulikivi stove”
yes, looking, but does it come as a kit? You put together?
Right now we are between building a Tulikivi stove, and a gas fireplace, which is more common over here.
We were at the Home Show, and they had some samples, but the US rep really did not know what the product was.

Damn, that UPM is shoveling money out of window…
No bonuses here too, not even coffee. I’m always nice to the cafeteria ladies though and they may sometimes have a leftover pulla from some meeting for me.
“Does Tulikivi have good products?”
Yep, made for you by my fellow North-Karelian rednecks with love. Remember to lit the woodpile from the top for good combustion.

Nunnauuni looks Ok, but no stores in the USA.
Anyway I am out to light the fire in the Sauna, and breakin out the rum.

ummm… no, A Finn would know what is the best you can buy with your own money you can afford, so a helo or a misa for 200 euros is the max limit

A very good point about the “reilu meininki”. That coupon is also an example of the “Finnish Design” we are proud of.
I love the typography.

I just bought used Porin Matti, in brilliant condition, for 50 €.

Cold company that one Then again, at least they get a salary on top of that. Look at Lidl and how they treat their employees.

At 10 000 dollars for a Tulikivi, you have to really want the looks to get one in the USA. Are they that expensive in Finland? I suggest a factory in the USA, as we have soapstone in our mountains as well.
Don’t want any rednecks out of business, just more business by franchising.
