Finland for Thought Politics, current events, culture - In Finland & United States
Tervetuloa | Welcome I'm an American who's been living in Finland for six years (damn!). I started this blog to address some of the political, cultural, and current event issues in Finland and the United States.
...but mostly what you'll find here is: Finnish and American stereotypes, Funny YouTube videos about Finland, rants about our high taxes and low salaries, and [not-so] comedic differences between Finns and Americans. Enjoy! :-)
Markku knows….all the stereotypes (=truths) from Finland and about Finns. I wonder when it’s time to swift to Ferrari t-shirt. Phil you should try to get interview from him, maybe even “hot topics in sauna” broadcast;)
I think this is only funny to the finns or all the others that know finnish language and customs. But i find it funny that he is so point on in some things, like we think we’re something else with Nokia, WCR and such.
I find him funny but i don’t think anyone else does with no deeper knowledge of Finland.
I doubt Santa can afford to get Markku some Eurovision tickets due to ridiculous overpricing Merry XMAS, nontheless Getting the last gift tomorrow, gearing up for some american football at the mall Man, xmas time, I just wish you could sometime just go GTA on all the motherfuckers spacing around shopping centres during the holidays…I’m a cookie on edge, about to get crushed. Bring it on shoppers, I’ll bring my bat.
Looking at the map of Turku harbor/archepellago, it appears that Marku’s description of Turku is an apt diarrhea description )…..

I have been to Turku 3 times and the sun was shining and I agree with you…Turku is a wonderful Finnish city, beautiful and historic.I like Turku.I have entered turku harbor twice on the Silja Europa.I loved the day trip from Stockholm, through the beautiful archepellago…
I visited Turku castle and was impressed…Aura river is interesting..I hung out at a bar on the Aura ,listening to a fine jazz group…amazing, it was like New Orleans…The best thing I enjoyed was going out on evening cruise on the historic UKKOPEKKA steam engine powered boat.Fine food,Finnish accordian music, then a great Salmon buffet on a small historic island, finished off with shots of Salmiakki…I watched the Europa and other Viking line boats cruise by this island…to the sounds of Humppa music complete with beautiful Finnish women dancing around..with the sun above horizon at 11 p.m in the evening it is an experience infinndel will always treasure..infinndel loves Turku, and hope to visit again!

@7: hop on a yacht in Turku, and wait for an hour for the city smokestacks to fade away… and you’ve come to one of the most beautiful places on earth.
