OECD: Finnish Economy To Grow 5%

Tags: Uncategorized — Author: @ 12:01 am

“The OECD suggests that to facilitate job creation and alleviate bottlenecks in labour supply due to the ageing of the population, remaining pathways to early retirement should be phased out and greater wage flexibility in the central wage agreements put in place. The outlook report added that to avoid a pronounced house price cycle, incentives for municipalities to provide land for house building in fast-growing regions need to be sharpened.”

There must be some kind of a mistake. High taxes mean economic stagnation.

    High taxes mean economic stagnation.

Indeed it does. That’s why Finland’s growth can be attributed the boost all of Europe got from Bush’s tax cuts.

#2 Probably also means that American shareholders own an even larger share of Finnish businesses than before.

Finland’s high taxation restricts Finns from owning companies based here in Finland. Hence, Americans ‘own’ those companies instead………….and that’s where the profits go: America.

Just love these numbers. The European welfare state is indeed remarkably resilient regardless of all the scaremongering. It is interesting that the supposedly strongest economy in the world, the USA, can’t for example afford single-payer health insurance, but Europe manages all that and still economically relatively strong.

By the way, is this blog funded by the US department of state? It’s starting to seem more and more like a propaganda effort…

    “High taxes mean economic stagnation.”
I keep hearing this, but I don’t get it. High taxes in tandem with high social security benefits means money changes hands more often. How can that result in stagnation?

“By the way, is this blog funded by the US department of state? It’s starting to seem more and more like a propaganda effort…”
I’ve been thinking the same. Whenever there is _anything_ said about Finland here, the implication is that it’s bad or undesirable.
