Malpractice Claims on the Rise

The Patient Insurance Centre believes that this year, six percent more complaints will be filed than in 2005. This would bring the total number up to 8,000. [..]In the past few years, less than a third of malpractice claims have led to damages being paid to the patient. Last year, 31 million euros were paid out in a total of 2,300 cases.
