I visited in Nicaragua where local people knew what's Nokia and Aurora Borealis. I also met some American tourists (los gringos) who didn't know what Finland is. Good job guys.

:) Don't forget:

5. Sisu
6. Summer Cottages
7. Skiing
8. Snow
9. Modernist architecture
10. Forest
11. Sibelius
12. Death metal
13. Tango (not so much any more)
14. And if you really want to get out there, reindeer and Santa

But I think the average person hasn't a clue about Finland. These are real responses I've gotten:

*What is Finland?
*I thought Helsinki was in Russia.
*Finland? Finnish death metal rocks!
*[Something about Vikings...]

If you ask people, not from Finland, what the typical Finnish thing would be they probably would answer:
1. Perkele
2. Koskenkorva
3. Sauna
4. Puukko
But we all know that there is more to us than just these things. Or? =)
