Norwegians can be lazy because of the welfare

Tags: Uncategorized — Author: @ 6:14 pm

Picked up Maxim magazine on my flight home last night, in it was article on Norwegian model Monica Hansen, here’s a funny excerpt…

Maxim: You grew up in Norway and now live in Los Angeles. Do you find American fellas more aggressive than your countrymen?

Monica: Norwegians can be lazy because of the welfare. I find Americans hard working. I think American men are more masculine and European men are more metropolitan.

Nice one!! But aren’t Norwegians the richest people on this planet? Well, with all that oil, gas, fish, forrest they can afford to be lazy. Still, Norwegians are also very advanced as a society. They score very high on the human development index. I would say they are very blessed people. Since they don’t use their wealth created from natural resources for attacking countries or so, they should remain a very blessed lot for many generations to come. Certainly so when models like Monica Hansen evolve from there. Surely there has to be more where she comes from. :-)

That cigarette hanging from her mouth on her web page looked disgusting. I hope she’s not a smoker.

    According to CIA World Factbook:

Rank order of purchasing power per capita:

Bermuda and Luxemburg are somewhat anomalous, being very small countries frequented by foreigners. Equatorian Guinea probably experienced the fastest economic growth on the planet so far, thanks to huge petroleum discoveries off it’s coast. As a result, the elite is fabulously rich, while common people are typically poor of a Central African country.

and just to give you some perspective:

    ..
222 Congo, Democratic Republic of the $800 2005 est.
    223 Kiribati $800 2001 est.
    224 Ethiopia $800 2005 est.
225 Congo, Republic of the $700 2005 est.
    226 Tanzania $700 2005 est.
    227 Burundi $600 2005 est.
    228 Comoros $600 2005 est.
    229 Somalia $600 2005 est.
    230 Malawi $600 2005 est.
    231 Gaza Strip $600 2003 est.
    232 East Timor $400 2004 est

    End.

P.S. Interestingly, the bottom 10 included two of the most liberatrian countries of the world: Somalia and the Republic of Congo. ;)

My God. You don’t take this as fact do you?
or could it possibly be “Woman flatters surrounding men for financial gain”

Standard men’s magazine question: What do you think of our men?
Standard foriegn model’s answer: Oh I just love French/American/Papua New Guinean men! They are so much bigger, better, shinier than our ones!

Fact. In Russian male magazines Anna Kournikova claims she prefers Russian men. In American magazines it is American men.
Models do it, actresses do it, women do it, I do it. It’s simple marketing. Oldest trick in the book. But that men actually buy it, well that’s news to me.

  • BurrBurr

Now, why would that surprise you. There’s probably nothing that your averege man wouldn’t believe if it came from a female model (that is compliments that they’d give). Reason for this is that, they just want so much that models would think higly of them. It really doesn’t matter what kind of bs that compliment is, theyre too busy to notice

Face it, she loves American men the most and those boobs are real. ;-)

  • Freeridin’ Franklin

Face it, she loves American men the most and those boobs are real.

They’re real all right, just not natural. Ooh, American plastic surgeons are so big and handsome and COMPETENT! ;)

  • qtlf

The photo is upside down! :)

  • Antti (the redneck one)

Hmpf..cod biters…I thought one motivator behind the whole welfare state was to give you some sort of safety net so you don’t have to emigrate to show your tits in a magazine or meet 20 drunken sailors per night…

  • Freeridin’ Franklin

Phil, how would your girlfriend react to the name of the picture?

  • Gerka

I think it shows Phil has a dubious taste in women, so his GF might not be too worried.

  • http://kervo.blogspot.com/ kervÃ¥

    “NOrway” “yoru”

Is the picture somehow affecting Phil’s writing in a random manner?

  • gopha

    Hot chick, crappy website.

  • winter

Hot chick, and she actually figured out what the welfare state does to folks. (It sure does not motivate anyone).

Note to self: must not party with 20 drunken sailors per night

She sounds like the perfect person for some acute social analysis. Usually when I want balanced and intelligent commentary on a country I first ask its models.

I liked the last comment though. “I think American men are more masculine (=macho) and European men are more cosmopolitan (= less stupid).

    Read between the lines Phil.

  • http://www.finlandforthought.net Phil

    cosmopolitan (= more gay) ;-)

  • http://www.axis-of-aevil.net/ hfb

I think she meant metrosexual, phil. :)

  • http://finnsense.blogspot.com finnsense

    “cosmopolitan (= more gay)”

Maybe that too. Not in Finland though. I’ve yet to meet an openly homosexual man in Finland. This has to be one of the more homophobic societies in the West.

  • Hank W.

Go to a Jari Sillanpää concert – he came out of the closet a few months ago.

  • gopha

Metrosexual is gay without the pole smoking. :D :P

  • http://finnsense.blogspot.com finnsense

But Marco Bjurström is still very much in the closet as far as I’m aware. Respect to Jari Sillanpää, however, though I’d rather not have to watch his cheesy face again.

  • Erik

What’s wrong with being lazy? Rich people are lazy. Poor people work.
