Politics, current events, culture - In Finland & United States

Tervetuloa | Welcome
As an American living in Finland, I started this blog six years ago to address the political and cultural issues in Finland and the United States - but lately this blog is just a place for me to make fun of Finns and Americans. :-)

Back from Conan!!

Tags: Uncategorized — Author: Phil @ 6:30 pm

Well we’re back, I was in the press room and was able to ask some questions to Conan and get some good photos, videos, and recorded the entire press conference in mp3. I’ll be adding those in the next few minutes. My server has been acting up again and my support team is looking into this.

Sorry for the hundreds who waited in the cold for an hour or two, only see Conan get on a ladder and wave for five minutes. SubTV really fucked up on this one, Conan was supposed to address the crowd and they had no mic and PA system for him. Weak.

Other photos online, pics from Santeri S. of today’s event. Here’s more.

Here’s the full mp3 of Conan’s press conference, the beginning is a bit weird because he was getting off the bus and it was windy outside. Listen for my question to Conan, “What does your wife think about you spending Valentine’s Day with Tarja” then my girlfriend’s follow-up, “What are you getting Conan for Valentine’s Day?”

Here’s video clips of Conan arriving and at the press conference. You can hear me say, “Welcome to Finland Conan” when he first walked in the door.

  4. You have typo there, actually your gf is saying: “What are you getting Tarja for Valentine’s Day?” But that’s great follow up question! Odd that he didnt grab the double meaning in it ;) Thanks for videos!

  5. I just saw the news story about Conan on MTV3 and I think I saw your camera taking that picture up there with the blue background. Your girlfriend’s question was in the report too!! I wonder what he’s gonna do tomorrow though, since everything is closed on sundays…

  9. I’m frustrated since my mediaplayer says “Windows Media Player ei voi toistaa tätä tiedostoa. Muodosta yhteys Internetiin tai aseta tiedoston sisältävä siirrettävä tietoväline asemaan ja yritä sitten toistaa tiedostoa uudelleen.” over and over and over again.

    Oh well…

  12. I always wondered how much of Conan’s “funnyness” is written, but in the press conference he proved he’s funny without written jokes as well.

Definitely. His opening monologue each night ain’t that great, and that’s written by all his crew. His funniest bits are his interviews which are mostly improvised.
