Nice pic. Was your server down yesterday (Wednesday, 8 Feb) or perhaps very early morning Thursday? It kept saying it wasn’t working properly and nothing would show up but your things ‘error’ page (apologies on the lack of computer lingo). Glad to see it’s up and running for the moment.

Strange fruit indeed. I probably sound like an old geezer with all these irrelevant stories, but the picture reminds me what happened to one junkyard owner at Ruoholahti. At the time there was none of these fancy office buildings there and number 8 tram to Salmisaari went on one pair of rails for the last few hundred meters. This track was quite curved and run along the junkyard fences. The driver had to make sure the tram from Salmisaari was already gone so they wouldn’t meet on the single track part of the route head-on.

Apparently, one yard went bankrupt big time as one morning, the owner was hanging high from the crane hook scaring the heck out of the tram passengers and commuters on länsiväylä. It took quite a long time for the police to get him down.

The “View results” link isn’t working in the polls. That’s a minor thing though, because you can see the poll results by voting yourself.

Interesting thought on that one. I think I heard something similar the other day on another board. I can’t remember where though.
