She’s plain. I’d like her more if she were slimmer.Round shoulders aren’t sexy. As for features – her nose is too big. In general I don’t find her attractive. She would have no chances in Miss World contest. Besides, some of you are right – it would be nice to see a dark- or brown – haired beauty queen. What’s with you Finland??? Just to clear out Mia’s reputation here: There is no proof that she would have fake boobs. Here’s the story in a nut shell: There were rumors about Mia having fake boobs, and mr. Makunen wanted her to get a doctor’s paper saying that she is all natural. Then her dad got into an accident, and she decided to drop the pageant, so she didn’t feel the need to go to the doctor’s anymore.

I think you all need to grow up. They all had a chance to win and they pick the one that they thought was the best.

We're missing the point here. As Phil has pointed out, Finns like continuity. Now that Kymppitonni is gone, the Miss Suomi pageant is the only thing left that never changes. I bet that its popularity will only increase precisely because of its 1980s campness, as people in their early 30s start getting more and more nostalgic about their childhood and teen years. Long live Kekkoslovakia! Long live Riitta Väisänen! Long live Kari Salmelainen! Long live the Miss Suomi pageant! By the way, has anyone else noticed that this girl looks a little bit like Marika Fingerroos (with professional makeup being an obvious difference)?
