I hope Conan goes back to his usual routine after this state visit. Would be a nice thing to watch a regular episode without all the Finland fuss. I guess with all the angry, over sensitive finnish fans he’s gonna leave behind, his fanbase here is going to diminish anyway.

Conan should visit with the Duudsonit before he visits Tarja. I read an article the other day (maybe in Hesari? sorry, I’ve never been that great at documentation or footnotes) that they signed a pretty major contract over in the U.S. Goes to show that hitting your buddies in the nuts with a baseball bat is not only fun, but can be profitable. They’d be way more a way more entertaining interview than Tarja. Unless of course she demonstrates her belly dancing skills before she takes him to dinner at the local nakki kioski.

American presidents don’t meet Finnish talk show hosts (or those of any countries), Finnish presidents should not meet American ones either. Yeah, we’re a small country, but the president should have some honor and not bow to American clowns. I’m embarrassed on behalf of all Finnish people about this whole thing. How sad and laughable can a country be, getting so damn exited about an American talk show host?! Please, stop this thing already…

actually george w. bush and bill clinton and ronald reagan have all appeared on american talkshows while in office. i think it might be sort of risky for tarja to appear on conan, seeing how he will most likely just ridicule her in one way or another. then again, the average finnish subtv watcher will probably pee themselves in excitement no matter how conan treats her.

Conan is not going to “ridicule” Mrs Halonen, the whole thing was just a joke for crissake!!

Most people I know don’t give a damn. I suspect most people in Finland don’t give a damn. The whole thing got blown out of proportions first by Finnish media, then by Conan himself. “I’m a GOD in Finland”, yeah right. I’m sure that many people were excited at first when Finland was mentioned in Conan’s show, even I was. After about 20 or so repetitions of the same joke it’s just boring.

Give me a break. Haloska celebrated her 2nd presidency by visiting a wiener grill… she’s such salt of earth that she can meet any talk show host she wants. I think she managed to leach any dignity from her presidency over her first three years in the office.

Maybe next time they can send Mickey Mouse to play chess with the commander of Finnish army. Or maybe they can just have Ronald McDonald piss on the Finnish flag. Great entertainment. This certainly encourages the Americans’ view of the rest of the world as a Disneyland for Americans. I don’t know why the hell so many Finns seem to be so desperate for international attention. Those kids who get high from watching Conan should go watch Kummeli or read a book.

Come on! It’s just entertainment. I think it’s fun to see President of Finland and American talk show host meet. Now Finland is known in America in funny way. But that invitation video that people from Turku sent to Conan was waaaay embarrassing!!!!
