Politics, current events, culture - In Finland & United States

Tervetuloa | Welcome
As an American living in Finland, I started this blog six years ago to address the political and cultural issues in Finland and the United States - but lately this blog is just a place for me to make fun of Finns and Americans. :-)

For all you Daily Show fans…

Comedy Central Daily Show reporter Steven Colbert is beginning his own half-hour TV show beginning next week, it will come on each night right after The Daily Show. Can’t freakin’ wait…

Now his No-Fact Zone has expanded into a half-hour spinoff, “The Colbert Report.” It will air Mondays through Thursdays at 11:30 p.m. EDT, right after “The Daily Show,” starting next week.

“My character is self-important, poorly informed, well-intentioned but an idiot,” Colbert explains. “So we said, `Let’s give him a promotion.’”

Note: The title of the new series should be pronounced with a silent “t” in “report” as well as “Colbert” (say: coal-bear ray-poor), as a verbal handshake exchanged by Colbert cognoscenti. Demonstrating that you get it. That you’re one of “the Heroes.” Which means you agree with him. Who is always right.

It carries on in the satiric tradition of “The Daily Show” by serving up a phony version of cable-news punditry such as MSNBC’s “Scarborough Country,” CNN Headline News’ “Nancy Grace,” and, of course, Fox News Channel’s top-rated “The O’Reilly Factor,” whose host, Bill O’Reilly, oversees what he calls “the No-Spin Zone” with messianic bluster that cries out to be mocked.

  1. Super guy. This will be funny.

Maby he won’t be as left wing as the Daily Show’s direction has gone. It would be nice to have some one take shots at both sides. They both deserve it.

  6. The previews at Comedy Central’s website are hillarious.

“If the voters had any balls…well, do you voters? Do you have any balls? Because I do…lemme show you”
