When your husband wants to be your wife - Judi fell in love with Mike, but is making it work with Mikayla…
They are a happy couple raising a child together in New Hampshire, and sharing custody of their three other children. Four years ago, Judi Howden married Mike (Mickey) Howden. Today, she is married to Mikayla Howden, after Mickey had a sex-change operation.
At the time of their marriage, Judi Howden knew Mickey had questions about his sexuality. A month into their relationship, Mickey mentioned that he used to cross-dress. Then, he said that he still cross-dressed. Finally, he told Judi he was a lesbian trapped in a man’s body.
I’ve always wondered if this kind of people exist. Probably very rare, but at least this shows that sexuality, inner feeling of sex and outer marks of sex are not all tied together at all.

For your information, dear “eastten”, there are these people who are transsexual. They have always existed and only thing that has varied has been the way in which society treats them. Sexual orientation and your biological and psychosocial sex/gender are separate things. You probably think that homosexual men identify themselves as women, right? Newsflash: they don’t.
Besides, I’ve always loathed people like “eastten” who believe that they know best and that people who are different are just somehow “confused”. I’d rather say that it’s maybe people like “eastten” that are confused by the diversity of people.
By the way, I think that the finnish term “transsukupuolinen” is better than this “transsexual” because it doesn’t emphasize sexuality as much.

I want to thank you so much for running our story again….it is so interesting for myself and Judi to see the responses and reactions of people throughout the world. To which there has been a wonderful response (for the most part). I find it so hard sometimes to see all the ignorance that still exists throughout the world and how much education is still needed. My girlfriend is a bi-sexual transwoman. She always has been, even in what we call “The Before Time”. We have been together happily for almost 4 years, now. She’s such a beautiful, gentle spirit….. I still can’t understand why some people would want to beat her to death for trying to be an actualised person.
