More Finnish-American custody battle news…
More news about Outi Koski, John Rogers and their two sons. This Washington Times article sheds some new light on the situation. Currently, the Finnish government has forced the two boys into the high-security ward of a children’s psychiatric unit in Oulu for almost two months !!
Outi Koski is forbidden to have any contact with the boys while the John Rogers has had limited contact. Outi has been seen pacing through the pine trees outside the institution in Oulu, hoping to catch a glimpse of her sons through the windows. She has even spelled out the word “MOM” in the snow outside their window.
Meanwhile John has been trying to prevent the boys from stealing keys and escaping the ward to freedom. Mr. Rogers said the boys greet him on such visits by asking him, “When are you going to get us out of here, Dad?’” – “Several times, they’ve asked me to plot an escape to freedom,” said Mr. Rogers.
The Finnish courts are currently trying to decide whether the two boys should be allowed to decide where they want to live. In a recent court case, the boys have stated that they wish to live in Finland but return home to the United States for the summers. Originally the Finnish high court said it was not convinced that “the views as presented by the children were their own, independently made of their own free will.”
Here’s my question: If the Finnish government is *TRULY* interested in fulfilling the personal requests of the two boys, why are they forcibly locking the boys in a psyc-unit away from the mother?? Is that the boys decision? Is that what they want? Doubtful.
Just wondering, does Santa Claus visit little boys in psychiatric wards??
