Finland for Thought
Politics, current events, culture - In Finland & United States

Tervetuloa | Welcome
I'm an American who's been living in Finland for five years. I started this blog to address some of the political, cultural, and current event issues in Finland and the United States. I am a strong advocate of liberty, individuality, equality, and tolerance. Enjoy!

Merry Chrismukkah!!

Tired of not being able to find greeting cards for your friends who are both Christian *AND* Jewish?? Well no fears this year, the card company “MixedBlessing” have created 10 new cards that acknowledge both Christmas and Hanukkah.

For most of you, this sounds totally ridiculous. But for oversensitive politically-correct American left-wingers, these cards are about 30 years overdue. These American lefties (very different from Finnish lefties) often get offended if they are Jewish and receive a Christmas card, or vice versa. Well, rather, they don’t get offended, they think you should get offended if this happens to you.

I dunno about you, but if someone were to send me a Happy Hanukkah card, I’d be happy to receive it and wish them a Happy Hanukkah back. Or if someone wished me a Happy Kwanzaa on the street, I’ll wish them a Happy Kwanzaa right back, or maybe I’ll wish them a Merry Christmas, or maybe I’ll just smile. But if you are an politically correct American, you better wish them a Happy Holidays only.
