Fox News - Unfair and Unbalanced?

Fox News gets a lot of criticism….they also get a lot of high ratings. They pride themselves on their motto, “Fair and Balanced.”
Although they themselves are not “fair and balanced”, they help create a “fair and balanced” national news media. The vast majority of news outlets in the U.S. are left-wing, so, if you watch a particular story on both Fox News and another news service…you’ll get both sides of the issue.
At least everyone knows that Fox News in right-wing, some people believe still think that news outlets like CNN are truly unbiased! But unfortunately Fox News stories come across like some of this tabloid yellow-journalism you’ll find in Finnish newspapers like Ilta-Lehti and Ilta-Sanomat. Their articles are designed to get some shock value from it’s viewers. Fox often reminds me alot like Michael Moore’s style of Info-tainment.ÂÂ

American Media liberal? Which planet do you live on! Compered to the European media most is about right as you can get. There is often a strong nationistic stance plus the amount of placed media is huge.

Well, it’s all relative - Almost everything in the states looks “right-wing” compared to Europe. But when you compare Fox News with CNN or instance, Fox will look “right-wing” while CNN looks “left-wing”.
About the nationalistic stance, I think that has very little to do with left or right-wing media outlets. Take the recent Finnish-American custody battle in Finland for instance. The Finnish media has undoubtately taken a pro-nationalistic stance on the issue. So in that regard, I think the US media and Finnish media are equally nationalistic.

The idea that a journalistic source should be biased either left or right is insane. It goes against the very idea of journalism. Take a look at BBC World for an unbiased news source.
